The Research Center on the Baltic States conducts interdisciplinary research, mainly within the field of legal and administrative sciences, international relations, security and history. The main goal of the Center's activity is the development of international scientific and publishing cooperation in the indicated areas within the Baltic Sea Region (including Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany), in particular with the universities and research institutes, public administration bodies, private sector entities and non-governmental organizations located in the countries of mentioned Region.
The tasks of the Center include:
- initiating, conducting and coordinating interdisciplinary research in the field of the abovementioned fields with foreign and domestic partners;
- initiating the University's participation in research programs and consortia at the national and international level in the above-mentioned areas;
- organizing national and international conferences, seminars, research internships and summer schools.
