Conference „Security, Human Rights and Sustainable Development”

30.04.2019

It is our pleasure to invite you to take part in the International Conference "Security, Human Rights and Sustainable Development" that will be held on 9-10 May 2019 in Białystok.

The main idea of the conference is to discuss the issues of security and its different perspectives. To main perspective are the relations of security and human rights. Nowadays when the societies are facing different kind of danger the question of the respects of human rights arises. This problem has two dimensions. First is how far can we go to limit humans rights to protect ourselves. The second is how deep a state can intervene to individual’s rights to protect others. This discussion needs to be set in the specter of sustainable development. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth.
